The store has been restored as it appeared in 1805 and the house has retained its original features, which were very unique and extravagant in comparison to other houses built at that time. Come and visit this beautiful Federal-style home of Hugh and Isabella Torrance. Their son, James Torrance, ran a retail business in the home from 1805 until 1825 making this site the oldest standing store in the state of North Carolina. Admission is $5.
