Penland Gallery offers a tour of the campus. This in-depth, guided tour tells the history of the School and visits many of the working student artists. Reservations are required through the Gallery.The School of Crafts offers more than 12 different media including book arts, glass, clay, metal, wood, photography and textiles. Penland Gallery features high-quality contemporary work in all craft media. The work is produced by selected artists associated with the School.
Visitors are welcome to walk through the grounds.and to look in open classrooms. Of special interest is the Craft House, one of the largest log structures in North Carolina. You are also welcome to visit The Barns, which houses the studios of the Penland resident artists: full-time craftspeople who live and work at the school.
