So I’ve been photographically constipated for the past few months as well as needing a break from social media. It’s also been a rough time finding time for photography with an almost 3yr old who’s blossoming into a brilliant little girl…and very rapidly I might add. During a family vacation to the #outerbanksnc I was able to use the mornings to find and explore new areas. This image was taken at Lake Mattamuskeet which is North Carolina’s largest natural lake and is located within the Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge. To say that the mosquitoes were abundant really doesn’t do it justice…had i not worn a summer hoodie and pants, it would’ve been a blood donation of epic proportions. Despite the onslaught of mosquitoes and other winged creatures and spiders, it was a really quiet and soothing morning. Something I had missed very much. ▪️ Fujifilm #gfx50r flmtripods CP34ii

What a fun adventure to take a 4x4 safari through the Corolla beach area to see the wild horses. These wild horses are the descendants of Spanish Mustangs abandoned on these shores in the 1500’s. They thrived for centuries here but have become endangered by human encroachment.
