A scenic route that begins in Dillsboro and stretches through Sylva to Cashiers, Jackson County is home to more than 50 locally crafted brews and four breweries that make up the Ale Trail. Local breweries pride themselves on using local ingredients to develop unique tastes and flavors, so stop in to each for a refreshing taste of their take on innovative and seasonal craft beers. All breweries are family-friendly and offer at least one non-alcoholic beverage on tap. Innovation serves more than 30 unique hand-crafted beers and will be opening a second location with 24 brews on tap with an expanded sour program in June. Balsam Falls Brewing Co. features six beers on tap with a rotating selection of more than 10 IPAs, pale ales and sours. Whiteside Brewing, which will be located Cashiers, will open in May and will feature 6 taps year-round with the 7th tap changing seasonally.
