The Halifax County 4-H Rural Life Center has 6-7 miles of trails to offer to horse, cyclist and hiking enthusiast alike. There are various types of terrain that suit beginners to advanced. The trails wind their way through beautiful pines and skirt around fields offering a chance to see nature at its finest. This location is also home to the Halifax County Horse Council which hosts regional events using the center's two lighted riding arenas and permanent concession stand.
Also located on the grounds is the Allen Grove Rosenwald School, a well-preserved example of a Rosenwald school house. This was used to educate African-Americans from the 1920s until the late 1950s. Tours are available by advance request.
