One of the largest attractions in the state, the North Carolina Zoo delivers fun for family and friends from exciting animal encounters to enchanting outdoor art, and is considered an international leader in animal conservation. Situated in the “heart” of central North Carolina near the scenic Uwharrie Mountains, the North Carolina Zoo is the world’s largest natural habitat zoo. Guests will encounter 1,600 animals along a five-mile walking trail and can also enjoy hiking trails.
