Look for the T-rex skull and you’ll find McCoy Minerals, a hidden treasure trove of geological artifacts and gemstones! There are plenty of beautiful stones and fossils outside the store, but inside is a glittering smorgasbord of natural stones, cut gems, fossils, knives, and jewelry. Locally owned and operated, McCoy Minerals is special because they cut 80% of their stones in shop, and have a wealth of knowledge to share on all things stone and fossil. They are education based in everything they do, and love to discuss rocks, minerals, gems, and fossils. They also lead Rock Hound Tours on certain Sundays where they will take guests along with them on a local dig and teach the basics of digging for gemstones.
