The property has an interesting history dating back to the early 1960′s with the development of Thunderbird Mountain
The lake has a wide variety of fish; small & large-mouth bass, walleye, crappie, bream & lake trout. Until recently Lake Santeetlah was home to the state record large-mouth and walleye. Fishing licenses are required & can be purchased at the marina or online. More than 50 primitive campsites are scattered around the shoreline. These sites have limited- to no- facilities, best of all no fee or permit!
