With a 50,000-acre reservoir at its heart, Kerr Lake State Recreation Area offers endless opportunities for outdoor adventure and relaxation. This massive reservoir, located an hour north of Raleigh, is surrounded by eight access areas, each offering a unique experience.
Campers can choose from seven campgrounds and hundreds of campsites, many situated right by the water’s edge, perfect for soaking in the lake’s serene beauty and stunning sunsets. For anglers, Kerr Lake is a premier fishing destination, renowned for its plentiful bass, catfish and crappie. All access areas feature at least one boat ramp, making it easy to explore the lake’s expansive waters.
