Pulliams Hotdogs & BBQ
Take a 90-minute drive to this iconic hot dog stand. It doesn’t look like much — a small green-and-white-striped building in a gravel parking lot — but inside is a heaping helping of racing history and the best hot dogs in the South, according to editors at celebrity chef Rachael Ray’s magazine. The regulars like them “all the way” — mustard, onions, slaw and chili. Former NASCAR CEO Bill France Jr. loved them so much that he would divert his corporate plane to Winston-Salem so he could pick up a few on the way to a race.
Moravian Culinary Trail
Satisfy your sweet tooth with centuries-old recipes from Winston-Salem’s famous Moravian bakeries. Pick up some cookies and cakes as tasty souvenirs. For another taste of local culture, stop by one of the city’s popular craft breweries.
Childress Vineyards
If you'd rather skip the breweries, on your way back to Charlotte, take US Highway 52 south from Winston-Salem to Lexington. Owned by racing legend Richard Childress, this vineyard offers wine tastings featuring local chardonnays and merlots — perfect for a laid-back end to your day.
Bank of America Roval 400
Race day! The Bank of America Roval 400 kicks off at 3 p.m. on Oct. 5, 2025. Beat the traffic by arriving early via NC Highway 29 or 49 (or stay overnight in an RV at the track). Explore driver merchandise trailers and soak up the electric pre-race atmosphere, which often includes military flyovers and stunt shows. No matter where you sit, catch every moment on the track’s massive 80-foot-tall, 200-foot-wide HD screen.
