Guilford Courthouse National Military Park in Greensboro commemorates one of the most pivotal clashes of the American Revolution. On March 15, 1781, Major General Nathanael Greene’s outnumbered Continental forces battled British troops under Lord Cornwallis in a fierce confrontation that ultimately weakened British control in the South, helping to pave the way to victory at Yorktown.
Today, visitors can walk the wooded battlefield trails, explore interpretive exhibits and view monuments dedicated to the soldiers who fought here. The park also features a visitors center museum, which offers immersive perspectives on 18th-century military strategy and the local impact of the war. Each spring, the anniversary is marked with reenactments and living history demonstrations, drawing Revolutionary War enthusiasts from across the country.
