The Grifton Shad Festival is celebrating their 54th year! Enjoy a parade, car show, carnival rides, art show, Miss Grifton Pageant, live music and the traditional Shad Toss! Be sure to come hungry as there will be delicious food all week long, including the Shad Festival Fish Stew. Most events are held on Saturday and Sunday.
Fun Fact: The festival slogan "Eat Mo Shad" came to life in 1974 when graffiti was found on the drawbridge over the Contenea Creek with the tagline.
