Spry Creek
A charming display of local and imported artwork is tastefully displayed at this boutique. Find items such as; jewelry, handmade soaps, linens, ceramics, glassware and even carved decoys imported from Spain, Portugal, and Mexico. Spry Creek is owned by lifelong Outer Banks resident Karen Whitfield and her husband John. Karen converted her father’s old auto repair shop in Corolla into a quirky and surprising shop. Added to the charm is the original old bay doors and shop flooring, including Karen’s father’s work bench, which came out of the Penny’s Hill Lifesaving Station. Spry Creek is named after a deepwater creek just north of the shop where local fishermen used to keep their boats and a couple of local crabbers still do!
