Built in 1859, the Cape Lookout Lighthouse is located on the Cape Lookout National Seashore. There is a Light Station Visitor Center and Keeper's Quarters Museum also on the premises.
The lighthouse is open for climbing on Wednesday - Sunday, from mid-May to mid-September. (Also open Memorial Day and Labor Day but otherwise closed every Monday.) Climbs begin every 15 minutes, starting at 10:15 am with the last climb at 4 pm. Please be aware that tickets to climb are required. Advance reservations are available by calling us to reserve. Climbers who are 12 years old or younger must be accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older.
