The OBHC Gallery offers special exhibits and displays daily, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., concurrent with operating hours for the Roanoke Island Festival Park schedule; admission is free. On weekends and holidays, enter the Gallery through Festival Park’s Arrival Center.

The OBHC Reading Room is open to researchers Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and is closed on all state holidays. Reference archivists can assist with research questions and retrieve materials from the stacks.

The Outer Banks History Center is a regional archives and research facility administered by the North Carolina State Archives and located in Manteo, on historic Roanoke Island. Its collections document the history, development and growth of the North Carolina coast and the Outer Banks region.
