Upstairs Artspace is a contemporary arts institution specializing in fine art and craft by emerging and established artists primarily from the Southeast. Known for innovative exhibitions in three separate galleries; an ambitious schedule of cultural arts programs; and a gift shop. A new 4600-sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility opened in 2004 in downtown Tryon. The Upstairs was founded in 1978 as a non-profit gallery.
