Cape Fear Mountain Bike Trail
Terrain: The trail is located a mile down the Cape Fear River Trail (CFRT) if you are coming from Clark Park. After crossing Eastwood Drive, you will see trailhead signs not far from where the utility wires cross the trail. The first half mile is more technical and located near the river. While this provides beautiful scenery and interesting terrain, it can also create slippery riding surfaces after a rainstorm. The trail crosses over the CFRT before the first bridge and continues on a winding path that allows you to explore nature in the middle of the city. This section is better for beginners and can deliver a satisfying ride for all.
Safety: Whether it is your first time riding or you are a professional, there are a few things to keep in mind. Most importantly, all riders must wear helmets. It is very common to take a tumble on an off-road course and safety is keyy.
