Owned and operated by Mangum native John Matheson, he grows birdhouse gourds, muscadine grapes, figs, and other assorted produce as weather permits. John’s Farm offers the perfect venue for agritourism as a ‘U-pick’ farm, which has become even more appealing with the current health crisis. John’s says offering the ‘U-pick’ option has always been the aim of the farm, but especially with Covid-19, customers can rest assured that no one else has ever handled their food, as they pick it directly from the vine. While this option is preferred, John will also pick for those unable to come and occasionally takes some of his produce to the Rockingham Farmers Market. You can pick vegetables and fruit in season, purchase garden and orchard plants, all grown on the farm.
