Duke Energy’s EnergyExplorium offers educational and fun activities for pre-arranged groups of 10 or more who interested in learning more about electricity generation and Lake Norman. There are several interactive exhibits on subjects ranging from saving energy to tracking weather. Enjoy a virtual tour of the station, plus a movie about the history and building of Lake Norman. Groups must have advance reservations, with tour done Wednesday - Friday.

The Energy Explorium also offers a self-directed learning environment for groups of all ages plus presentations on nuclear energy and basic electricity. Our large auditorium is perfect for viewing a movie or hosting a business meeting or community group.

There's also a mile-long nature trail that borders Lake Norman and a backpack full of nature guides. Plus, there's a beautiful picnic shelter next to a butterfly garden.
