International teams on NC pitches

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup arrives in North America, the national football teams from Germany, Scotland and Norway have set up base camp in North Carolina. Germany, seeking its fifth World Cup, has drawn to Winston-Salem's storied Graylyn Estate and nearby practice fields. Scotland, returning to contention for the first time since 1998, opts for Charlotte for its ideal location and access to Charlotte FC's practice facilities. Norway, in its fourth World Cup appearance, has chosen Greensboro for its relaxing vibe and close training grounds.

As soccer excitement builds toward the June 11-July 19 matchups, fans can share the trans-Atlantic adventure with stays in these distinctive destinations.
