Zebulon B. Vance Birthplace State Historic Site

  • 911 Reems Creek Rd.

    Weaverville,   NC   28787

This reconstructed 1790s mountain farmstead is where North Carolina’s Civil War Governor, Zebulon B. Vance, was born. Five farm outbuildings and a 220-year old slave cabin offer a glimpse into life on a large mountain farm in the early 19th century. Guided tours of the house are offered hourly. Stop by the Visitor Center to borrow a map for a self-guided tour of the outbuildings. Discover life on the farm and on the battle field, from the 1790s to the Civil War, with our living history events held throughout the year.
