The World’s Largest (functional) Frying Pan has a capacity for 365 chickens. It weighs 2 tons, is 15 feet in diameter and holds 200 gallons of cooking oil. It can be viewed every day in the “Town Square” in Rose Hill and has been used to cook chickens for various festivals and events for more than 4 decades. The pan was built in 1963 by Queensboro Steel Corp in Wilmington as a tribute to the area’s burgeoning poultry industry.
