Led by Artistic Director & alumnus Keith Lockhart, the Principal Conductor of the Boston Pops & Chief Guest Conductor of BBC Concert Orchestra, Brevard Music Center (BMC) stands as one of the country’s premier summer training programs & music festivals. For ten weeks, the next generation of musicians gather in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to perform more than 80 captivating concerts — encompassing symphony, opera, chamber, pops, blues, jazz, & bluegrass. The acclaimed summer festival has presented many celebrated names in classical music including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, & Joshua Bell, as well as Grammy® Award-winning artists like The Manhattan Transfer, Béla Fleck, Steep Canyon Rangers & Lyle Lovett. The lakeside, open-air Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium, seats 2200 including lawn seating. Picnics encouraged. Group sales available.
