The Ackland’s collection consists of more than 17,000 works of art. It features North Carolina’s premier collections of Asian art and works of art on paper (drawings, prints and photographs), plus significant collections of European masterworks, 20th century and contemporary art, African art, and North Carolina pottery. A walk through the Ackland can be an introduction to Peter Paul Rubens, Eugene Delacroix and Andy Warhol – all in the same day. Free admission. Gift shop nearby on E. Franklin Street.
