The Sallie Mae Ligon Museum and Archives, located on the scenic campus of The Masonic Home For Children in Oxford, preserves the past of NC's first and oldest operating residential home for children. Built in 1929 and once known simply as the Baby Cottage, this renovated residency holds and exhibits a treasured collection of Masonic Home documents and memorabilia, dating back to its inception in 1873 as the Oxford Orphan Asylum.
