In Kings Mountain, Independence Day will be a two-day Revolutionary 4th celebration at the Walking Track Park next to the KM YMCA. In honor of the turning point of the Revolutionary War's Battle of Kings Mountain, which was fought just south of town, a gathering of over 20 Revolutionary reenactor militias will be encamped in the area. There will be musket and canon demonstrations, colonial craft making, and an opportunity to learn and sign the Declaration of Independence. Friday's celebration features a concert by The Lauren Light Band at Neisler Stage, a parade with the Loch Norman Pipe Band, and the grand finale of a mock cannon battle and the largest fireworks display between Charlotte and Asheville. Join us for the festivities from 6 pm- 10 pm on July 4th and 10 am- 2 pm on July 5th.
