67th Annual Easter Sunrise Service

Celebrate the glory of Easter with song, scripture, and spiritual music at Chimney Rock State Park, as a spectacular sunrise ascends over Lake Lure. The service takes place beneath the 535 million-year-old Chimney Rock, the monolith for which the Park is named. This non-denominational Easter Sunrise Service has become a legendary event in western North Carolina. Seeing the sunrise over Lake Lure is one of those experiences that stays with you for a long time. It’s awe-inspiring and can be very emotional. For more than 60 years, families have made this an annual outing to celebrate this very special occasion.
