Nativities are beautifully displayed in the sanctuary of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church. Individuals from Lumberton and communities near and far share their treasured nativity, accompanied by a story about their treasure; some inherited, purchased abroad, one piece at a time over years, handmade by the owner, tiny to large, each nativity reflects its own beauty.

Nativities made from marble, ebony, stained glass, Paper Mache, seashells, dish detergent bottles, feathers, nails, punched tin, ceramics and blown eggs, have been displayed. Each nativity, separately and collectively, reminds us of the true glory of the season. Seasonal music, live and recorded is provided. This is the sixth year of presenting this special event, open to the public and admission is free. Homemade sweets may be purchased, by the pound, at the Sweet Shoppe located beside the sanctuary. Welcome and Merry Christmas!
