The Tryon International Film Festival is a spectacle to be witnessed only by being here. It is one of the few film festivals in the world that employs an entire town. Seven screening venues operate seamlessly during the entire three-day event as retail shops, restaurants and bars come alive with activity as filmmaker and fans walk the streets and enjoy parties, street entertainment and art. In 2016, Tryon expanded its categories of submissions from full-length feature films, shorts and documentaries to the highly impactful “Human Rights & Dignity (HRD)” performance category. The impact of this additional grouping resulted in an influx of films from 17 countries.
