Take a walk through the heart of Haunted Wilkes, and learn our local history as we visit the Robert Cleveland home, brother to the Revolutionary War Col. Ben Cleveland; the Old Wilkes Jail, where such notorious ne’er do wells as Otto Wood, James Byers, Pearline Foster, Ann Melton, and Tom Dooley were incarcerated; and the site of the Tory Oak, where those loyal to the Crown were hanged during the Revolutionary War. Walk inside the last remaining slave cabin in Wilkesboro, see the voodoo curse written on the wall more than 150 years ago and hear the tragic stories of those believed to have fallen victim to it. Visit the oldest cemetery in Wilkesboro, hear the stories of those who helped mold this land, those who paid the ultimate price to defend it, and those said to still roam.

Admission: $10 for adults, Children 8 & under not recommended
