Historic Murfreesboro invites you to come home for Christmas. We have four days and nights of old fashioned holiday festivities planned. It all begins with our night parade down main street on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. Lighted floats, bands, groups singing carols and more will kick off our events. After the parade, a tree lighting ceremony with carolers, Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate and treats will be held at the Roberts-Vaughan house. On Friday and Saturday the Historic Candlelight Tours will be held. This ticketed event requires reservations and includes a tour of over 13 historic homes, stores, shops, and museums. At the conclusion of the tour is an old fashioned meal and dessert with live music. On Sunday, Chowan University presents Christmas at Chowan. The music departments are joined by the community choir to present Christmas music of all types. This concert truly has something for everyone.
The parade events are free. Tickets for the candlelight tours are $35 for adults, $10 for children, and must be purchased by December 2 by calling 252-398-5922. The concert at Chowan is free.
