Kushner gives voice to characters who have been rendered powerless by the forces of circumstances – a drag queen dying of AIDS, an uneducated Southern maid, contemporary Afghans – and his attempt to see all sides of their predicament has a sly subversiveness. He forces the audience to identify with the marginalized – a humanizing act of the imagination. During his evening at Bardo Arts Center, he will be interviewed on stage by broadway star and WCU School of Stage & Screen Faculty Member, Terrence Mann. This presentation is a part of the WCU Literary Festival. In addition, the WCU School of Stage and Screen will be presenting Tony Kushner's acclaimed theatrical production, Angels in America, in Hoey Theatre November 2017. More details coming soon!

Admission: $25, tickets on sale Aug. 1, 2017
