Casual and competing artists of all levels for ages 15+ are invited to paint on the shores of the Pamlico River and in the Historic District of Washington during the first Plein Air on the Pamlico events. Artists may enter pieces, compete for cash prizes, sell works during the wet-paint sale and exhibit in the month-long exhibit at the Turnage Theatre. The painting boundary includes a picturesque riverside, historic homes, antique car show, majestic oaks, historical churches, the colorful 36th Washington-Beaufort Co. Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Summer Festival, Havens Mill, downtown boat docks, Turnage Theatre, antique caboose and more! Awards: 1st Place: $300, 2nd: $200, 3rd: $100 and a special prize is chosen by the Chamber: Summer Fest Award with a cash value of up to $750. There will be a wet paint sale and reception at the Turnage Theatre with music by Chuck Phillips.
