The Doc & Rosa Lee Watson MusicFest in Sugar Grove is back again in July! The festival honors and celebrates the late 8-time Grammy-winning musician from just down the road in Deep Gap, Arthel Lane "Doc" Watson. Doc got his start when he was a young man busking on the streets in Boone, but later became a national icon who toured nationally and internationally and played with some of the biggest names in American music.

Though Doc passed away in 2012, the festival continues as a tribute to his legacy and impact on the music industry. The Dan Tyminski Band headlines Doc Watson Music Fest this year, alongside the Kruger Brothers, Scythian, Wayne Henderson, Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road, plus so many more! Enjoy fresh food, craft vendors, acupuncture demonstrations, and more at this awesome annual festival.

The festival also serves as a fundraiser for the Historic Cove Creek School on the National Register of Historic Places and houses the incredible Doc Watson Folk Art Museum.
