For 82 years, Brevard’s Summer Music Festival has brought hundreds of gifted young musicians from around the world together to prepare and perform great musical works at the highest artistic level. Led by BMC Artistic Director and alumnus Keith Lockhart, the Principal Conductor of the Boston Pops and Chief Guest Conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra, this next generation of musicians gathers in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina alongside some of the most celebrated names in music for the summer of a lifetime. Brevard’s hallmark is the powerful sense of community that re-emerges every June through August as more than 80 remarkable concerts—ranging from symphony, opera and pops to rock, jazz and bluegrass to this year’s season-long Bernstein Festival—are presented to summer audiences totaling over 40,000.
