People from near and far fill the streets of Robbins to celebrate community and heritage at the town’s annual Farmers Day festival. Though its beginnings were humble, the festival has grown into something much bigger. Now, the 2019 Farmers Day (64th year) spans three days and boasts live music, food and craft vendors, and a fireworks display. Adding to the already full slate of entertainment are carnival rides and a tractor parade. With the exception of the carnival rides, all of the weekend’s entertainment is free. The Farmers Day crowd consistently dwarfs the small town of Robbins, whose population hovers around 1,000. Attendance is 25,000 to 30,000 during the weekend, Friday night usually being the biggest night. The large crowds are the proof that Farmers Day is a special event that will continue to add to the town’s already rich history.
