Each October the Columbus County Fairgrounds in Whiteville come to life with the Columbus County Agricultural Fair, an authentic county fair set over the course of four days. The Columbus County Agricultural Fair is the longest running agricultural fair in the state.

Attendees from across southeastern North Carolina enjoy time-honored fair activities, such as carnival rides, a Ferris wheel, tractor pulls, demolition derby, pumpkin carving contest, a spelling bee, live entertainment and agricultural exhibits and competitions. Some of the more unique activities at the fair include a diaper derby race, children’s tractor pull, Farmly Feud and the ladies powder puff demolition derby.
