Experience Christmas by candlelight at historic Wilmington landmarks. A holiday adventure from the past, luminaries light the way to seven homes and three houses of worship. Adorned in seasonal decorations, the tour includes six private residences, the Latimer House and for the first time, the beautifully restored Mitchell-Anderson House. Built in 1738, it is the oldest home in Wilmington and recently underwent a total renovation. Each home displays various architectural styles from the 19th and 20th centuries. The three houses of worship showcase Wilmington’s rich African American history and include Chestnut Presbyterian (1858), Shiloh Baptist (1870) and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (1871). The 46th annual Old Wilmington by Candlelight Tour is a beautiful, seasonal way to experience historic Wilmington’s extraordinary architecture while getting inspired for the season.
