On the first three days in December, Island Farm will host “Christmas on the North End,” an event focused on holiday traditions in the early days on the Outer Banks.
Costumed interpreters will share how Roanoke Island families celebrated the Christmas holiday in the mid-1800s. The homeplace will be decorated inside and out, while Farm interpreters will demonstrate traditional mid-19th century traditions of food, celebration, and holiday craft. Kettle corn, candle making, Christmas ornament crafting, and grapevine wreath making will be the highlights along with the opportunity to visit and have pictures made with St. Nicholas inside the historic homeplace!
Island Farm is a living history site, dedicated to interpreting pre-Civil War life on the Outer Banks.
