3-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Spend the day being pampered at the spa. Then enjoy great shopping, take a wine cruise and indulge in a waterfront meal.

Day 2: Look for treasures to take home at interesting shops and boutiques.

Day 3: Enjoy a day on the water paddleboarding, jet skiing or boating.

Day 1: Get pampered

Begin your vacation with a day of relaxation. Start with a cup of coffee and a Danish, bagel or pastry at any of the great coffee shops in Cornelius. Try Gabi’s Coffee Shop or The Baker’s Joint, both conveniently located only a short drive away from your first destination.

Then, go to Dancing Leaf Spa Escape and spend the day indulging in the ultimate spa experience for your mind, body and soul. You can get your hair done at the salon, get a manicure and pedicure, or receive spa treatments, including facial and body treatments, massages and cosmetic enhancements. You’ll leave feeling rejuvenated for the fun to come.

Next, visit the North Harbor’s Davidson Landing where you can experience food and wine, the lake and a little retail, all in one place. First, taste new wines and indulge in the famous homemade cookies at Lake Norman Cottage. You can also browse through apparel, accessories and unique gifts throughout the store. Then you can take a wine cruise with gourmet hors d’oeuvres on the lake with Duffy Electric Boat Rentals. Complete the evening with dinner on the waterfront at the North Harbor Club.

Day 2: Go shopping

On your second day, enjoy local stores and shops. Start with downtown Cornelius and visit small boutiques and antique shops such as Avalilly’s, Ashley Carol Home & Garden and Bebe Gallini’s. These stores offer apparel, furniture, accessories, home décor and more.

Then go to Birkdale Village where stores line the streets, fountains bubble, benches beckon under a canopy of trees, and gardens bloom in spring and summer. You can shop for apparel, accessories, jewelry, home furnishings, beauty products and much more. Catch a movie at the Regal Theater, or enjoy lunch or dinner at restaurants such as The Corkscrew Wine Shoppe & Bar, Bonefish Grill, Red Rocks Café and Dressler’s.

Day 3: Enjoy the lake

Spend a full day out on the lake enjoying the water and scenery. Take a stand-up paddleboarding lesson from My Aloha Paddle Sports and Fitness to enjoy great views of the water and a get a real workout. Afterward, you can rent a Jet Ski or boat from Kings Point Morningstar Marina to cruise around Lake Norman.

For dinner, try The Dirty Martini, Lake Norman’s premier ultra lounge. The leather sofas, candlelit patio, dance floor, music and signature martinis create a great atmosphere and nightlife experience.
