The town of Marshall is a testament to what happens when community, creativity and resilience come together. After facing devastating flooding during Hurricane Helene, this small Western North Carolina community came together to reclaim their town from the floodwaters. As of Spring 2025, the town has reopened to visitors including a variety of accommodations such as the Old Marshall Jail, a unique boutique hotel, and Zuma’s Coffee, a local favorite for over 20 years.
And the story isn’t over. As Marshall continues rebuilding, so does the opportunity to give back, with many voluntourism programs and ongoing fundraising campaigns. We invite you to be part of this incredible recovery, whether lending a hand or simply showing support through your visit.
