Durham Performing Arts Center Earns International Ranking

Durham Performing Arts Center

The Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) is one of the top 10 venues in the world according to third-quarter rankings by Pollstar magazine.

The 2,700-seat, state-of-the-art theater in downtown Durham ranked No. 3 in the nation and No. 6 worldwide in terms of ticket sales, a global industry standard used to measure performance.

Since opening in 2008, DPAC has sold 1.65 million seats – meaning each seat has been sold more than 600 times on average – and has hosted some of the most popular performances on tour.

DPAC’s current Suntrust Broadway Season features blockbusters including The Book of Mormon, Once, Ghost, Evita and The Wizard of Oz. This year’s holiday performances include Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, KEM, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Carolina Ballet’s The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol.
