Walk the halls of Sawtooth School for Visual Art and you can peek into working studios where artists teach everything from ceramics to woodworking across 11 departments. Housed in a National Register-listed building in downtown Winston-Salem, the school has been the Triad’s community art school since 1945. Browse rotating exhibitions in the Eleanor and Egbert Davis Gallery and Redding Corridor Gallery, then take home something handmade from the Marta Blades Shop, which sells work by instructors, students and community members. Sign up for a class or workshop, or just stop by for a self-guided look.
