Presidential Culinary Museum
301 Cleveland Avenue, Grover, NC 28073
Ever wondered what a first lady’s china looks like? You can see them all — and much more — at the Presidential Culinary Museum in Grover. Housed in the historic Hambright family home (known locally as “The White House”), the museum spans two immersive floors of presidential culinary memorabilia curated by Chef Martin CJ Mongiello, who worked with the past seven Presidents of the United States from George H.W. Bush to Donald J. Trump. You’ll find fine china, recipe cards, culinary medals, and rare artifacts from the National Archives and presidential foundations. Though the museum isn’t open for public walk-ins, groups of six or more can schedule a free tour and even participate in a cooking class. For overnight guests, two charming rooms come with a continental breakfast, snacks and a private tour. Each spring, the grounds host the White House Chef’s Easter Egg Roll — a festive tradition inspired by its White House. Just remember — tours are donation-based, so bring canned goods, supplies or a financial gift to help support the museum’s community outreach.
