Medoc Mountain State Park

Medoc Mountain’s nearly 4,000 acres offer seven scenic hiking trails with more than 10 miles of hiking. There are 34 tent/trailer campsites and four group campsites. Canoe rentals are available for a 1.5 to 2 hour paddle on Little Fishing Creek or bring your fishing pole. Enjoy picnicking in open meadows at one of 30 tables with eight grills or at the park’s picnic shelter. There are also 10 miles of bridle trails for horse enthusiasts. Take advantage of regularly scheduled educational and interpretive programs. Medoc Mountain is the site of North Carolina’s first established winery by Sidney Weller, who is credited with developing the American system of grape culture and wine making.
