Carolinas Aviation Museum
The collections of aircraft, helicopters, equipment, gadgets and printed material covers much of aviation's rich history and accomplishments. Our interactive displays are not just eye catching, but also informative, they are especially attractive to the younger visitor...but we have noticed aircraft buffs of all ages climbing into the pilot's seat. USAirways Flight 1549 “Miracle on the Hudson” has arrived in Charlotte and is on display at the Museum. Come in and see the aircraft as it is being preserved for permanent display. View items that were inside the aircraft and watch a video that tells the miraculous story of the events that unfolded on January 15, 2009. The mission of the Museum is to educate the public about the importance of aviation to our society and inspire the next generation to excel academically in the areas of math, science, and history through the preservation of our aviation heritage.
