North Carolina Arboretum

Surrounded by the southern Appalachian Mountains, the North Carolina Arboretum is a 434-acre treasure nestled in one the most beautiful natural settings in America. Guests will enjoy 65 acres of cultivated gardens, 10 miles of forested hiking and biking trails, an engaging indoor exhibit center and innovative outdoor exhibits, and one of the finest bonsai collections in the United States. Arboretum grounds are open 7 days a week. Property hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., November-March and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., April-October. The Baker Exhibit Center, Education Center and Bonsai Exhibition Garden are open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Please check for special holiday hours. A parking fee is charged, please check for current rates. No parking fee applies for NC Arboretum Society members. Parking is free the first Tuesday of the month.

Special Directions: The North Carolina Arboretum is located next to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance at Milepost 393. From I-26, take Exit 33 and follow Blue Ridge Parkway signs for two miles to the entrance ramp.
