President James K. Polk State Historic Site
Birthplace of the 11th U.S. president. Visitors center with exhibits and displays illustrating life and times of Polk. Film, guided tours through reconstructed log buildings furnished in late 1700s to early 1800s, artifacts.

Special Directions: From Interstate 77 south of Charlotte take Interstate 485 East (Exit 65-B). At the Pineville exit take Polk Street south through the town of Pineville for about two and one half miles. The President James K. Polk State Historic Site is on the left.
