Undoubtedly one of the best deals in town is the Southport-Fort Fisher ferry ride. Costing a mere $5 for a carload, this convenient way to get back and forth from Southport to historic Fort Fisher, the aquarium and Kure and Carolina Beaches is not only cost-effective, it's a fun and scenic ride. Pay attention to the schedule and arrive early, especially during the busy summer months; reservations are not accepted. Any size car, RV or trailer licensed for highway use can be accommodated for a variable fee. Pets are allowed but must be leashed or remain in your vehicle at all times.
