North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher

The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, near Wilmington, offers a wild adventure for families to explore together. Visitors follow an exhibits' path showcasing the state’s diverse aquatic wildlife from freshwater streams and swamp habitats to reefs and open ocean. Come eye-to-eye with thousands of animals including alligators, sea horses, jellies and sea turtles. Talk to divers as they swim twenty feet under with sharks, rays and eels. Meet Luna--a rare albino alligator. Touch sea stars, horseshoe crabs and even sharks! Explore more with behind-the-scenes tours, outdoor adventures, classes, camps and more. Sneak a peek behind the scenes with Aquarium staff and watch sharks devour their dinner. Free daily offerings include live animal presentations and feedings, touch pools and films. New exhibits include Adventure Reef, an outdoor play area and fossil dig; interactive Megalodon shark exhibit; and a Bamboo Shark touch pool. Gift shop, gardens, refreshments and souvenir photos.
